Terms of Service: Coaching

Coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve multiple areas of your life, including interpersonal relationships, health, education, recreation, and sexuality. You will be asked to acknowledge that deciding how to handle these issues, incorporating coaching into these areas, and implementing what you have learned in your choices is exclusively your responsibility.

Coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions as defined by the American Psychiatric Association. You understand that coaching is not a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care, or substance abuse treatment and you will not use it in place of any form of diagnosis, treatment, or therapy. You understand that even though Rhoda Lipscomb, Ph.D. is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado, coaching does not include the rendering of psychotherapeutic advice or services and no therapist-client relationship is created or implied when you agree to work with her.

If you are currently in therapy or otherwise under the care of a mental health professional, you will consult with the mental health provider regarding the advisability of working with a sexuality coach and that this person is aware of your decision to proceed with the coaching relationship.

Terms of Service: Confidentiality

Since you will be dealing with issues of such a sensitive nature, Dr. Rhoda believes that confidentiality is one of her most important responsibilities as a coach. In most cases, any information provided by you as a client in coaching is confidential. Unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing, or unless disclosure is required by law or subpoena, the receiving party’s obligations hereunder with respect to each item of confidential information shall never terminate. However, there are legal exceptions to the rule of confidentiality. According to Colorado Statue (C.R.S. 12-43-218) they are:

  • Lawsuits or complaints against the therapist
  • Disciplinary proceedings
  • Reviews of professional conduct
  • Reporting child abuse or neglect
